On May 13, 1957 The Consulting Center, now Quinco Behavioral Health Systems, saw its first patient in the basement of the Bartholomew County Hospital.  From its humble beginnings in the late 50’s and early 60’s, Quinco has increased its budget by close to 50,000% and its staff by nearly 10,000%.  In the last four years, they have continued to grow and have been able to maintain a very stable rate.

Quinco has always avoided being labeled a “mental health agency” and has worked diligently to create premiere programs for its clients.  Quinco offers an innovative mix of mental and behavioral healthcare services including outpatient, intensive outpatient, day therapy treatment and residential services.

Quinco has grown at an impressive rate over the years and now serves several counties across south central Indiana.  However, they initially focused on five in particular: Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, and Jennings.  Hence the name “Quinco”, from the Latin word “quinque”, or five.  In 2000, Quinco began offering services for Spanish speaking clients, a much needed, but rare offering in the healthcare industry. 

They’ve found that their services continue to be in high demand and are working hard to meet the needs of their clients and business partners.  Quinco is a learning organization by design; doing their best to offer the most effective and groundbreaking treatments and serving communities all over Indiana whose needs are not being met.
