Hoosier Tool & Die (HTD) began operations in 1949 under original owners Bob Taylor and Oliver Wilson and was incorporated in 1986 by Don and Renny Davis.  Since then, HTD has continued to grow and define itself in the tool & die manufacturing industry.  Widely recognized for their performance and commitment to quality, HTD offers a variety of products and services to its customers:

  • Prototype Development

  • Production tooling

  • Contract machining

  • Designing and manufacturing fixtures, dies, gauges, and special machinery

  • Just-in-time (JIT) delivery of parts

  • Value engineering support

Presently, HTD is ISO 9002 and ISO 9001:2000 certified.  ISO certifications are global standards of product and service quality and are very difficult to obtain.  These specific certifications are based on a total quality system encompassing all aspects of the business.

Hoosier Tool & Die experienced a temporary drop in sales in 2002, effects of 9/11 and a major job loss to Mexico.  Since then, HTD has rebounded and has experienced significant sales growth for the last nine consecutive quarters.  In fact, over the last six years, they have seen over 80% growth in sales.  Two important time periods to note, the years leading up to and following the decline in 2002, 34% (’00-01) and 30% (’03-04), exceptional numbers for a company that has been in business for over 50 years.

HTD hopes to continue to develop a very responsive contract machining capability with a primary target on prototype to medium volume and tight tolerance work in addition to designing and building jigs, fixtures, special machines and assembly line automation tooling.   Also on the drawing board for HTD--developing a product line of tooling for the Tubing Industry and creating a grinding center of excellence in Columbus.
