"Aging? Get With It!" is the theme for the 10th Annual
Senior Expo scheduled for Friday, May 11 at the Holiday
Inn. The event is a partnership between the Chamber of
Commerce, Aging & Community Services of South Central
Indiana and the Senior Center of Bartholomew County. Over
300 seniors from Bartholomew, Brown, Jennings, Decatur and
Jackson counties are drawn to this event.
The purpose of the Senior Expo is to connect businesses
with consumers who are over 50. Booths will be available
to Chamber members for $245, if electricity is needed the
cost will be $265.
In response to suggestions from exhibitors, this year's
Business Expo portion will be scheduled from noon to 4
p.m. A kick off speaker scheduled at 11:30 a.m. and a
closing speaker at 5 p.m. will provide entertaining and
informative programs on care giving and home modification
topics designed to appeal to Boomers and younger seniors
as well as older seniors. An exhibit of universal design
hardware and home remodeling strategies for later life is
sure to prove a popular attraction.
This year, Senior Expo entertainment will headline the
Woodsmen, very popular regional entertainers featuring
Southern Gospel Music. All in all, Senior Expo should
prove another fun-filled and beneficial day for sponsors
and exhibitors.
