Businesses are urged to participate in Absolutely Incredible Kid Day

The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, Columbus Young Professionals and the Council for Youth Development are co-sponsoring a FREE letter writing blitz on Monday, March 12, from 4 to 6 p.m., at The Commons Mezzanine, in preparation for Absolutely Incredible Kid Day, which will be March 15.

AIKD is a national program through Camp Fire USA to give caring adults the opportunity to write messages of love, encouragement and support to the children in their lives. The letters can then be delivered in a way that delights the young person – through the mail, placed on a pillow, secured on the bathroom mirror, laid on the dinner table, or taped to the steering wheel.

On the 12th, adults can pick-up free AIKD note cards, along with letter-writing tips and sample sentences to aide in writing notes to those special children in their lives. Adults are welcome to write the letters on-site or take note cards with them to write at a later date. Letters are to be delivered to children on March 15. The goal is for every child in Bartholomew County to receive at least one letter that day. For more information, call the Council for Youth Development at (812) 314-3858.
