The Columbus
Area Chamber of Commerce along with the Greater Seymour
Chamber of Commerce and the Jennings County Chamber of
Commerce have joined together to form and promote the
first Regional Business-To-Business Exposition to be held
across the tri-county area.
The event,
which is being called a “Tale of Three Cities” approach to
economic development, seeks to provide greater marketing
opportunities for area businesses by allowing them to meet
and do business with other regional business customers.
The primary purpose is to expose regional chamber members
to key decision-makers and buyers from the South Central
Indiana marketplace.
When
commenting about the newly formed partnership, Jack Hess,
President of the Columbus Chamber, said, “Nothing is more
important to economic growth than the principle of
regionalism. In reality, there is no “State” economy.
Rather, Indiana is a collection of regional economies each
with their own strengths and assets. By partnering with
Jackson and Jennings Counties in a regional business
exposition, we are collectively beginning to lay the
foundations for a new era of regional cooperation which
will ultimately benefit each of our communities. The idea
is to make the whole of the region worth more than the sum
of its parts.”
Susan
Anderson, Executive Director of the Jennings County
Chamber is thrilled that her members can participate in
such an event. Anderson believes that opportunities to
partner together make sense and afford many advantages. We
eliminate costs, streamline the work and bring together
greater creativity.
The Regional
Expo will showcase more than 100 regional vendors who
manufacture and sell business-oriented goods or services.
Bill Bailey, President of the Seymour Chamber said, “This
opportunity to create a three-county business expo is a
great opportunity for all three Chambers to maximize their
member’s exposure and product or service offerings.”
Representatives from all three Chambers will be meeting on
a regular basis to plan for this collaborative event.
The Regional Business-To-Business Expo will be held on
September 18th and 19th at the
Holiday Inn Conference Center in Columbus. To have your
company featured in this premiere event, contact the
