More than 150 supporters gathered in The Commons to watch
teams cross the starting line of the CYP summer long
Amazing Race. We have 138 individuals competing in the
Race! 5 new teams signed up to participate while they
were at the Kickoff event.
Teams paraded down Fourth Street in ambulances, fire
trucks and buses, and others drove around The Commons on
bicycles built for two and three, kayaks on wheels, rafts
and floats detailed with their team name and theme.
Supporters were asked to vote for the team that they
predicted would win the race. We received more than 160
ballots. Currently, Equilibrium is Columbus’ favorite
to win. Others that are on Equilibrium’s coat tails are
Barker’s Beauties, M&M Sisterhood, In It To Win It!, and
Chi-O.
CYP Member, Keith Maddox of Maddox Entertainment was a
wonderful emcee for the evening and certainly should have
earned millions of bonus points for reading all of the
team names and descriptions! The food and beverages
provided by Tre Bucchieri, Columbus Bar, Bistro 310, 4th
Street and Smith’s Row were amazing! We received tons
of compliments from the attendees for having all of the
local downtown restaurants providing refreshments! For
