The Small Business Committee was designed
to create opportunities for entrepreneurs to build
relationships, learn with peer leaders, become thought
leaders, and connect with the community. This year’s
schedule of events includes four modules that will be
rotate three times throughout the year. The modules
include
1. Community Roundtables- give
entrepreneurs the opportunity to connect with the
community. These events provide information on community
issues that impact small businesses throughout the
region. Topics scheduled for 2007 include: The Columbus
Redevelopment Commission, Commercial Opportunities of Camp
Atterbury, and Dora Brothers Hospital Corporation.
2. Networking Events-formal and
social networking events are designed to help
entrepreneurs build relationships and to assist with the
process and education of cultivating referral-based
relationships.
3. TheBEST: Peer Leadership Events-
interactive sessions that expose businesses to the best
regional entrepreneurial talent and business builders.
Regional speakers scheduled for 2007 include David Hoeft,
Co-Founder and CEO of Premiere Credit, LLC, Tom Hirons,
CEO of Hirons & Company, and John McCormick, CEO of Kenny
Glass, Inc.
SmallBiz Book Club: Thought Leadership-
This small business book club convenes a dialogue around
cutting-edge ideas and timeless management practices.
Books scheduled for 2007 include Small Giants: Companies
that Choose To Be Great Instead of Big, and Revved.
The first meeting will be held on January
12th, 8:00a.m. at the Columbus Visitors Center. Tom
Vujovich, President of the Columbus Redevelopment
Commission will be available to discuss plans for downtown
Columbus and what it means for entrepreneurs.
