The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce and
the Columbus Young Professionals present:
Dr. Richard Florida
at the 98th Annual Chamber of Commerce
Annual Meeting on Thursday, January 18th at the Holiday
Inn Conference Center beginning at 11:30am.
Dr. Richard Florida is the Hirst Professor
of Public Policy at George Mason University, a senior
scientist with the Gallup organization, and a Senior
Fellow with the Brookings Institution.
He has taught regional economic development
at Carnegie Mellon University, and has been a visiting
professor at MIT and Harvard University’s Kennedy School
of Government.
Dr. Florida is one of the world’s leading
social theorists and public intellectuals, and believes
that human creativity is the engine of economic growth.
He argues that every human being is creative, and for the
first time in human history, our economic growth depends
on the further development of a wide spectrum of human
capabilities.
His most recent works include
The Rise of the Creative Class and
The Flight of the Creative Class.
Invitations will be sent, and reservations
are required. The meeting will be open to the public.
