Today, there are more than 4.1
million secretaries and administrative assistants working in
the United States, according to U.S. Department of Labor
statistics, and 8.9 million people working in various
administrative support roles. More than 475,000 administrative
professionals are employed in Canada. Millions more
administrative professionals work in offices all over the
world.
We all know how important support staff is and we all know
they work really hard – so Administrative Professionals Week
is set-up to honor and thank the people in those roles. The
Chamber would like to help your honor and thank your
Administrative Staff with a lunch on Tuesday, April 22nd at
11:30am at the Duke Energy building on Central Avenue.
The celebration will begin at 11:30 with time for networking,
a style show by Edinburgh Premium Outlets, and our special
presentation, Make It Click: Successful Relationships between
Managers & Administrative Professionals. This session will
cover one of the keys to building strong teams - maintaining
effective work relationships between administrative personnel
and the people they support. But do supervisors and
administrative professionals agree on what makes a good
partnership? OfficeTeam and IAAP conducted a survey of
managers and support staff to find out. This presentation
highlights the survey findings and offers insight into issues
that affect today’s administrative professionals, including
how to enhance communication, ensure optimal use of tools and
resources, and prepare for increased responsibility. This
session is brought to us by the Athens on the Prairie Chapter
of the International Association of Administrative
Professionals. We should be wrapped up by 1:00pm.
Help celebrate 2008 Administrative Professionals Week by
treating your Administrative staff to lunch on Tuesday, April
22. Sign up you and your administrative professional today at
www.columbusareachamber.com/events. Registration cost is $15.
