Bestselling Author Dan Pink to Keynote Chamber’s 99th Annual Meeting
The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce announced that nationally-recognized author and speaker Dan Pink will address the business community at the forthcoming annual meeting which will be held at 11:30 on Wednesday, January 30th, 2008.
Lilly Endowment Awards $38 Million in Grants for Southeast Indiana Regional Learning Programs. EcO15 initiative will directly impact education and training efforts in 10 counties
Lilly Endowment Inc. will provide $38 million in grants to two Bartholomew County organizations, officials announced today. The grants will fund educational programs associated with advanced manufacturing, health care services and hospitality and tourism for 10 counties in Southeast Indiana.
Chamber Members receive discounts on education
The Chamber of Commerce has signed Memorandums of Understanding that provide discounts on continuing education courses through Ivy Tech and IUPUC.   Members of the Chamber and their employees may receive up to a 20% discount on non-degree, continuing education programs and classes through IUPUC and Ivy Tech.  Contact the Chamber to learn more.
Tom Vujovich to speak at Small Business Committee's Community Roundtable. 
The first meeting of the Chamber's Entrepreneurial Network will be held on January 11th, 8:00a.m. at the Columbus Visitors Center.   Tom Vujovich, President of the Columbus Redevelopment Commission will be available to give an update on plans for downtown Columbus and what it means for entrepreneurs.
Budgeting for the New Year- CYP Professional Development

Third House Sessions provide a forum for Chamber Members to access our state representatives.    Milo Smith, Sean Eberhart, Eric Koch, and Greg Walker will be available on Monday mornings during this year’s legislative session to give you updates about legislation that could affect your organization.   Feel free to come to one or all of the sessions on Monday mornings at 7:30am January 28-March 10th at City Hall.

Grant & Loan Programs Available to Eligible IN Businesses
Can your business use recycled-content material in the manufacturing process?  Are you a proven recycled-content manufacturer looking for a new home?   Do you look for ways to reduce material or use more recycled-content in the manufacturing or business process?  The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) offers financial assistance to businesses, local governments, schools, solid waste management districts, and non-profit groups who would like to tackle these and other types of environmental projects.
Beth Finke Awarded "Professional of the Year"
Beth Finke, MS CCC-SLP has been employed with A Step Ahead Pediatric Therapy, Inc. recently received the "Professional of the Year" award by the ARC.  Beth has worked at A Step Ahead Pediatric Therapy, Inc. for the past three years.  Beth is very active in the community giving workshops to various non-profit organizations, regularly volunteers at Volunteers in Medicine and is very giving of her time wherever it is beneficial.  Beth lives in Columbus, is married to Rodney Finke and has three children.
